American Freedom Alliance mourns the sudden passing of its founder and president, Avi Davis.
He was a great friend, a truly fine man, and an intellectual powerhouse whose sudden loss we all feel acutely.
Avi and this organization have been a tremendous force for freedom, and the Board of Directors of AFA has been meeting to ensure that this important work continues.  We are committed to the mission, and to honoring Avi.
Recently, Avi had written this:
Happiness comes in life not by wanting but by giving; and then, of course, by expressing gratitude and humility for whatever small portion of good luck we are privileged to enjoy as a result. To BE happy, in the end, is to be grateful - thankful for our extraordinary good fortune to be alive.
If this is the case, and we believe it to be, Avi Davis must truly have been one of the happiest of men, and we are grateful to have known him.
Roger Simon of PJMedia wrote this moving tribute, and this In Memoriam piece was written by Adelle Nazarian from Breitbart.com.

About the Book:

Most of the essays in Reurgent Antisemitism illuminate the current situation for Jews in a specific corner of the world: Alejandro Baer covers Spain; Zvi Gitelman covers the former Communist countries of Eastern Europe; Szilvia Peremiczky covers Hungary and Romania; Rifat N. Bali covers Turkey; Paul Bogdanor covers Britain: Anna Sommer Schneider writes about Poland, Eirik Eiglad -Norway; Matthias Küntzel - the Middle East and Jamsheed K. Choksy - Iran.

Tel Aviv University's Ilan Avisar ponders the especially depressing topic of Israeli antisemitism, declaring: "Anti-Zionist argumentation has become a major phenomenon in Israeli intellectual life." Dina Porat explores recrudescent Holocaust denial;Famed scholar Robert Wistrich explains how Soviet rhetoric about Israel was picked up "by Arab intellectuals, nationalists, Islamists, and Marxists" - and, reaching across the Atlantic how antisemitism in Venezuela surged under the Hugo Chávez regime.

And Tammi Rossman-Benjamin examines the way in which victim-group studies on U.S. college campsues have intensified antisemitism throughout North America.

About the Speaker:

Tammi Rossman-Benjamin is a lecturer at the University of California Santa Cruz and has written articles about academic anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism and lectured widely on these developments and on the growing threat to the safety of Jewish students on college campuses. In July 2010, she co-organized a 2-week scholarly workshop entitled “Contemporary Antisemitism in Higher Education” at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies in Washington D.C. , and with Kenneth Marcus, the workshop’s other co-organizer, she is editing a book of scholarly articles on campus-based anti-Semitism. In 2009, she filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, alleging a hostile environment for Jewish students on her campus, and in March 2011 a federal investigation of her complaint was launched and is still pending. She recently co-founded the AMCHA Initiative, a non-profit organization devoted to investigating, documenting, educating about, and combating campus anti-Semitism in America.

About the Film:
Unmasked Judeophobia is a meticulous examination of rising anti-Jewish ideology. Filmmaker Gloria Greenfield travels from Israel to Europe to North America, covering this phenomenon from all angles, including historical Christian and contemporary Islamic polemics against Jews, the proliferation of anti-Israeli bias in academia and cultural institutions, misinformation campaigns and state-sanctioned denials of Israel's right to exist. Wide-ranging interviews include such eloquent and respected voices as Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz, Senator Joe Lieberman, former UN ambassador John Bolton, human rights activists Natan Sharansky and Irwin Cotler, British attorney Anthony Julius, Wall Street Journal columnist Bret Stephens, Middle East senior fellow Caroline Glick, British journalist and blogger Melanie Phillips, and Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Ya'alon, among many others
