About the Book: Europe after World War II was rebuilt by politicians who thought that all the horrors that had destroyed the continent and led to the Holocaust came from nationalism, democracy and militarism. Decade after decade, they tried to erase nationalism and national identities and to replace democracy with a technocratic autocracy. They chose military weakness and appeasement instead of a vigorous and healthy protective force. They promoted multiculturalism, unlimited immigration,redistribution of wealth and social engineering.  They let totalitarians seize power in the culture, in education and in the media. The result is today's Europe. Most European economies are on the verge of bankruptcy. Welfare states have exhausted state economies. Deficits grow fast. Muslim no go zones multiply. Birth rates have plummeted. Populist and xenophobic parties are gaining momentum.   More and more people feel that Europe is going in the wrong direction, but the ideas and knowledge that could help them understand this have been largely eliminated. Collapse has suddenly become very possible and urgent lessons from what is happening must be drawn.“

About the Author: Guy Milliére, a senior fellow of the Gatestone Institute, is also a Professor at the University of Paris VIII. He is the former President of the Turgot Institute in Paris and an economist at the Bank of France. He has published 40 books on France, Europe, the United States, Israel and the Middle East. He is the authors of thousands of articles published in France, Israel and the United States. His last book, The State with a Yellow Star, is an analysis of the new forms of antisemitism in Europe, and the consequences of the demonization of Israel and the Jews in the European media. He is working on a book on the decline and fall of Europe.
