In the wake of the recent Federal election, Western civilization remains faced with many daunting challenges: Europe's decline and potential financial collapse; the rise of China as a military superpower; the continuing threats posed by the prospect of a nuclear Iran; destabilization in Africa and threats posed by the emergence of Islamist dictatorships in the Middle East - have all formed a political landscape which poses  more challenges to Western values and ideals than at any time since the end of the Cold War.

But even more alarming  are the forces within our own societies which are seemingly committed to the destruction of Western power and influence: the collapse of the principle of academic freedom on campuses throughout North America and Europe; the evaporation of any semblance of even handedness in the media; increasing pressure by environmentalists on developed countries to curtail or eliminate industrial production and the emergence of a fervid global governance movement, which seeks to diminish the sovereign rights of nations in the name of a universal jurisdiction - are all combining to weaken the West's abilities to withstand the external forces prevailing upon it.

About the Speakers

Allen West
Prior to joining PJ Media, Congressman Allen West served 22 years in the U.S. Army before being elected to the House of Representatives by the constituents of Florida's 22nd district. Throughout his time in Congress, West consistently stood for policies that would make the United States prosperous, strong and free, even when speaking up was not easy. In January 2013, he joined PJ Media as the Director of Next Generation Programming where he is leading the effort to develop new Internet TV shows and other media that can be viewed on NextGeneration.TV starting in February 2013.

 Congressman West received his Bachelor's degree while at the University of Tennessee and later went on to earn a Master's degree from Kansas State University, both in political science. He also holds a Master of Military Arts and Sciences from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer College in political theory and military operations.
