American Freedom Alliance mourns the sudden passing of its founder and president, Avi Davis.
He was a great friend, a truly fine man, and an intellectual powerhouse whose sudden loss we all feel acutely.
Avi and this organization have been a tremendous force for freedom, and the Board of Directors of AFA has been meeting to ensure that this important work continues.  We are committed to the mission, and to honoring Avi.
Recently, Avi had written this:
Happiness comes in life not by wanting but by giving; and then, of course, by expressing gratitude and humility for whatever small portion of good luck we are privileged to enjoy as a result. To BE happy, in the end, is to be grateful - thankful for our extraordinary good fortune to be alive.
If this is the case, and we believe it to be, Avi Davis must truly have been one of the happiest of men, and we are grateful to have known him.
Roger Simon of PJMedia wrote this moving tribute, and this In Memoriam piece was written by Adelle Nazarian from Breitbart.com.

About the Topic:

California Central Valley farmers are under siege. After years of drought, not only has their water allocation, guaranteed to them under Government contract, fallen to 40%, but much needed water, vital to the sustenance of crops, is currently being siphoned off to protect certain fish species believed to be endangered. The emphasis on saving wildlife at the expense of human need is of a piece with the environmental campaign against agricultural activity across this country. Over the next ten years thousands of dams are slated to be closed, affecting farmers in dozens of states. Water authorities have also vowed to make their control and regulation of urban water supplies far more centralized and coercive. Join AFA at this important half day forum to learn from farmers, journalists, activists and water utilization experts how far reaching is this pernicious environmental campaign and what you can do to stop it.

About the Speakers:

Sheriff Richard Mack

As an actor and comedian, Paul Rodriguez’s multi-faceted career includes starring roles and featured appearances in over 45 films and countless television series and comedy specials. He as been particularly burned by Government and environmental policies since his mother's farm was recently sequestrated illegally.and he has made known his great indignation and outrage at the injustice of those efforts

Debbie Bacigalupi
Debbie is a sixth generation Californian. Her family members are ranchers and farmers in Siskiyou County and are under heavy environmental attack. An avid researcher for truth, and a modern day Paul Revere, Debbie speaks for freedom and private property rights while exposing the details of United Nations Agenda 21 and its exhaustive web. She attended the 2012 Rio Earth Summit/United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. Ms. Bacigalupi speaks on private property and water rights, the attack on rural America, the threats to farmers, ranchers, food, dams, water supply, overregulation, the One Bay Area Plan and Regionalism attempts in California and government corruption. She is a Certified Sommelier, a Certified Event Professional, and a biotech consultant. Debbie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Notre Dame de Namur with a BS in Business and a Masters in Business Management.

Richard F. Marshall
A native Californian, he grew up in Northern California and spent a great deal of time along the Salmon River, a major tributary to the Klamath. Richard is President of Siskiyou County Water Users Association, a non- profit 501 (c4) dedicated to preserving water and property rights for Siskiyou County citizens. I also serve on the Bi State Alliance committee. Richard graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1964 in Business Decision Theory. He has served as President of numerous professional organizations in the Bay Area and is now semi-retired raising Boer Goats in Siskiyou County.

Michael Coffman
Michael Coffman is an original expert regarding the land use component of Agenda 21. Years of research resulted in Dr. Coffman presenting the infamous Wildlands Map to the U.S. Senate in 1994 to prevent the adoption of the Global Biodiversity Treaty, a centerpiece of Agenda 21. Dr. Coffman writes, produces and speaks across the country on Globalism and Sustainable Development.

David Spady
David Spady is President of Media and Public Affairs Strategy based in Camarillo, California. He serves as Director of Government Affairs for Salem Communication Corp., and as State Director of Americans for Prosperity in California, a national grassroots organization focused on economic issues, free-markets, and limited government. Spady has been involved in political and media consulting for over 20 years. His work in the film industry includes clients such as HBO Films, the British Broadcasting Company, and IMAX. David recently produced a documentary film, Wolves in Government Clothing, exposing how the Endangered Species Act places the interests of wild animals above those of mankind. He is an avid outdoor sportsman and international traveler who has visited 21 countries. Spady earned an undergraduate degree in Communications from Azusa Pacific University and a Masters in National Security Studies at California State University San Bernardino.

Tim Donnelly
Tim Donnelly, is a California Assemblyman for California's 33rd District in San Bernadino County and a candidate as the Republican nominee for Governor of California. One of fourteen brothers and sisters, he was raised in Michigan. He moved to California with three hundred dollars in his pocket, paid his way through college at UC Irvine, raised five sons with his wife, Rowena, and started a business. Mr. Donnelly founded the largest Minuteman chapter in California and witnessed, first hand, the abandonment of the rule of law and the tragedy of drug and human trafficking. In the State Legislature, Mr.Donnelly promotes his core principles of free enterprise, liberty, restricting government regulation and upholding the Constitution.

Paul Taylor
Paul Taylor is an environmental scientist, journalist, author and public policy analyst/commentator. He is the author of Climate of Ecopolitics: A Citizen’s Guide (IUniverse, 2008) and Green Gone Wrong: Ecopolitics Exposed (IUniverse, 2001). As a journalist, Mr.Taylor’s opinion pieces and reporting have been published in numerous periodicals throughout the United States.

Laer Pearce
Laer Pearce was lucky enough to be born in California, at a naval hospital in Oakland. It was torn down to make room for a real estate development that went bankrupt. He was almost born on the Oakland Bay Bridge, which was damaged in an earthquake. It took California some 20 years to repair it - with plenty of incompetence and scandal in the mix.
Maybe that's what drove him to write "Crazifornia: Tales from the Tarnished State." More likely, though, it's the 30 years he's spent hacking away at California's regulatory jungle for the businesses and municipal governments his public affairs firm represents. One of his three daughters has already fled California for saner climes. He and his wife sometimes think about leaving, only to realize he's unemployable in any state that functions well enough to be worth moving to. And anyway, the weather's fabulous.

John Oetken
John Oetken is a founding Co-Director of Oath Keepers Orange County California Chapter. John is also the Director of Oath Keepers in Southern California. John was born and raised in Southern California, has lived and worked in South Korea (under martial law at one point), and has traveled extensively for international business. John graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Business Administration, emphasis in International Business, and attended graduate studies at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. He has represented several companies here and abroad and expanded the USA's largest recreational scuba diving trade association and trade/consumer show to Asian markets. John has been investing and trading in the stock/futures market since 1998 and has been a liberty activist since the mid 80's.

Piedada Ayala
Piedad Ayala is a central valley farmer and rancher who has been mercilessly attacked by both the state and federal government for attempting to launch a grass-roots campaign against Agenda 21 and the water shut-offs to his lands. He raised crops and had a thriving thoroughbred race horse breeding operation. He formed an organization www.TheWaterForAll.com. It was hacked and shut down by the government two years ago, and is still shut down.He has been attacked by multiple agencies--IRS, EPA, BLM, Fish & Game, since he was on Fox News with Sean Hannity and organized the march up highway 5 to the main water pump station to demand they turn the water on.

Marc Harris
Mr. Harris holds a Masters Degree from Stanford University and specializes in evaluating and solving environmental challenges to land use and in obtaining permits for development and uses of land in the US. He successfully negotiated the first-ever lease and covering over of a County-owned flood basin/wetlands for expansion of an adjacent commercial shopping center. Fluent in Spanish and bi-cultural, he served from 1994 – 1997 as an Appointee to Mexico’s Presidential Special Advisory Committee on Foreign Ownership, Land Reform, and Environmental Legislation; developing procedural guidelines for the purchase and development of land in Mexico by foreigners. Mr. Harris also consummated Mexico’s first purchase of Ejido- class land by a foreign entity, and achieved first-ever development permits in an environmentally sensitive mangrove and wildlife preserve. Mr. Harris is a very active political advocate, blogger, speaker, and organizer whose focus is on educating the public on the facts associated with the false and biased junk-science presented by the far-left to advance a purely political agenda.

Ken Ivory
Ken Ivory (R-UT, District 47) was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in November of 2010. Ken campaigned as a candidate of the “Dad Party.” Ken and his wife, Becky are the parents of four children. Given the daunting challenges that face the state and the nation, Ken took time from his business, mediation, and estate planning law practice to “secure the blessings of liberty” to his posterity. As the current president of the American Lands Council, Ken dedicates his time to educating legislators and community leaders throughout the states about their jurisdictional rights and duties to manage, protect, and care for the lands within our borders. Ken is the author of Where's the Line? How States Protect the Constitution.
