About the Topic:

The statement that western civilization is in crisis is almost a redundancy these days.  Any western newspaper on any day will reveal the truth of the statement: Islamist attacks in the middle of our cities; insurmountable debt, choking our budgets and mortgaging our future and a culture which is beginning to resemble in vulgarity and licentiousness the last days of Rome. What to do about this crisis when our populations are so riven with division between left and right and our media so inattentive to the very real cracks in our civiizational veneer? This will be the issue tackled by our speak for November.


About the Speaker:
 
Kenneth S. Abramowitz is a co-founder of NGN Capital, a $450m healthcare venture capital fund. He joined NGN from The Carlyle Group (2001-2003). Prior, he was an Analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein where he covered the med device/hospital/HMO industries for 23 years, when he published over 20 studies.  He was voted the No. 1 analyst in Medical Devices and/or Services for 15 years by the Institutional Investor magazine, which also added him to the Analyst Hall of Fame in 2009, with a rank of 15 out of 20,000 analysts. He earned a B.A. (Chemistry) from Columbia (1972) and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School (1976).  In 2013, he created: “How To Save Western Civilization From Itself.” - a website and presentation vehicle which he has presented numerous on hundreds of occasions around the world.
